Sony Vegas: Select a Range of Events

You can select a wide range of events easily in Sony Vegas, by using the Selection tool. Click and drag the mouse pointer at any corner of the area you want to select. Release the mouse button when the desired events are highlighted.

You can Add or Subtract events from the selection by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking the event.

While making the selection with the Selection Tool, you can click the Right mouse button while holding the Left mouse button to switch between rectangular selection, time selection, and track selection.

Sony Vegas: Quickly Select Entire Project

To quickly select the entire duration of a project in Sony Vegas, simply Double-Click the Marker Bar. All events and portions of events within the selection are highlighted. Especially useful when selecting a region for rendering.

Sony Vegas: Quickly Rotate Multiple Files

In Sony Vegas, you can quickly rotate multiple files in the Project Media window. Simply Select All the images needing to be rotated in the Project Media Window. Right-Click a selected file and choose either Rotate 90° Clockwise or Rotate 90° Counterclockwise from the shortcut menu. This is especially useful when portrait images are imported as landscapes and need to be rotated in the correct orientation.

Sony Vegas: Auto Preview

You can automatically preview selected clips from the Project Media window by selecting the Auto Preview button. Anytime you select a clip in the Project Media Window, it will automatically play in the Trimmer window. To turn this off, simply select the Auto Preview button again.

Sony Vegas: Highlight Timeline Events

When you have a full timeline in Sony Vegas, it can get hard to find certain clips. If you want to find a particular clip that’s currently in the Project Media Window in the Timeline, Right-click that clip and choose Select Timeline Events. If you want to find a clip that’s currently in the Timeline in the Project Media Window, Right-click that clip and choose Select in Project Media List. This will highlight the selected clips in either of the windows. You can select more than one clip if necessary.
