<p>Adobe Premiere Pro allows you to hide files in the project panel, including bins. Now there are a variety of reasons you might want to use this. Especially if you have quite a few files you&#8217;re working with. Perhaps you want to focus on a specific set of assets. You can hide everything but those specific assets.</p>
<p>Or perhaps you&#8217;re sending a project off to another editor. You may not want to confuse them with extra video clips in the project panel that doesn&#8217;t pertain to their task.</p>
<p>Or maybe you&#8217;re working with a client over your shoulder. Hiding clips may be handy to keep them from asking to watch all the extra clips you have.</p>
<h3><strong>To hide files in the project panel:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Select all the files you want hidden</li>
<li>Right-click and choose <strong>Hide</strong></li>
</ul>
<p><a href="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide.jpg" data-rel="lightbox-image-0" data-rl_title="" data-rl_caption="" title=""><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-7800 size-epcl_single_content" src="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide-441x450.jpg" alt="Hide Files" width="441" height="450" srcset="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide-441x450.jpg 441w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide-201x205.jpg 201w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide-294x300.jpg 294w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide-98x100.jpg 98w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide-47x48.jpg 47w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide-94x96.jpg 94w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-hide.jpg 742w" sizes="(max-width: 441px) 100vw, 441px" /></a></p>
<h3><strong>To reveal hidden files in the project panel:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Right-click anywhere in the project panel and choose <strong>View Hidden</strong></li>
<li>Click <strong>View Hidden</strong> again to re-hide those files.</li>
</ul>
<p><a href="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-view-hidden.jpg" data-rel="lightbox-image-1" data-rl_title="" data-rl_caption="" title=""><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-7802 size-epcl_single_content" src="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-view-hidden-469x450.jpg" alt="View Hidden Files" width="469" height="450" srcset="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-view-hidden-469x450.jpg 469w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-view-hidden-214x205.jpg 214w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-view-hidden-300x288.jpg 300w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-view-hidden-1-100x96.jpg 100w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-view-hidden-50x48.jpg 50w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-view-hidden.jpg 562w" sizes="(max-width: 469px) 100vw, 469px" /></a></p>
<p>Add a keyboard shortcut and you’ll be hiding clips in a flash.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut.png" data-rel="lightbox-image-2" data-rl_title="" data-rl_caption="" title=""><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-7801 size-full" src="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut.png" alt="Add a Keyboard Shortcut" width="1510" height="808" srcset="https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut.png 1510w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut-364x195.png 364w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut-300x161.png 300w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut-768x411.png 768w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut-1024x548.png 1024w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut-100x54.png 100w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut-700x375.png 700w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut-90x48.png 90w, https://www.robertsproductions.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ppt_05-keyboard-shotcut-179x96.png 179w" sizes="(max-width: 1510px) 100vw, 1510px" /></a></p>
<p>Simply go to <strong>Edit &gt; Keyboard Shortcuts</strong> and type “<strong>hid</strong>” in the search. Scroll down to Project Panel and from here you can add a shortcut for both the Hide function and the View Hidden function. Click to highlight the shortcut for the command you&#8217;d like to set a shortcut for and press in the shortcut keys you want to use. I went with <strong>Ctrl-H</strong> since it wasn&#8217;t currently used.</p>
<p>Now all you have to do is type in the assigned shortcut key(s) to View or Hide hidden files.</p>
