I tried the fix to stop the “unable to open scratch disk” the ctl+alt+shift did get me to option to delete settings file … but when I delete it … the next window pops up with shorter (but similar message) “… “could not open scratch file due to a disk error”

Any ideas … W7 64bit install OS is on C: and CS6 installed onto C:
